'Treasures of Malthusian Order' in Moscow Kremlin - open from 6 July to 9 September in Odnostolpnaya Chamber of the Moscow Kremlin Museums.
In their armours the warriors of Malthusian Order have gone through many fights and battles. Their whole story is similar to the heroic romance: 900 years of struggle for survival. They defended the weak and disadvantaged, they built fortresses and hospitals, have made many scientific discoveries.
"In particular, the Order was first to learn to understand that in order to get rid of the plague, cholera, and so on, people need a quarantine. They first to perform different operations, including cataract extraction, "- said General Director of the Moscow Kremlin Museums, Elena Gagarina.
The brothers chose the Maltese eight-pointed cross of white color as the emblem of the Order to symbolize chastity, and its four rays symbolize the main Christian virtues: prudence, justice, fortitude and temperance. With this recognizable symbol of greatness the Malthusian Order has become a major religious organization, independent of any secular or ecclesiastical authorities.
From 6 July to 9 September the Moscow Kremlin Museums will host the exhibition of treasures from the collections of the Malthusian Order of Italy, Malta, France and Russia. The pearl of the exhibition is the for first time brought to Moscow "Portrait of a Knight of Malthusian Order" painted by Caravaggio - it is known that the great artist lived for some time in Malta, executing orders of the hospitallers, and even received the title of Knight.
The Malthusian order today is not only the smallest state, but the 650 clinics worldwide. The Order continues to treat people as if confirming the high status of it strong and noble knights.
