The Moscow Kremlin is a symbol of the Russian state, one of the largest architectural ensembles of the world. It is the richest treasury of historical reliquees and monuments of culture and art. The Kremlin is situated in the center of the capital of Russia on the high Borovitskiy hill above the Moskva River. It is definitely  number 1 Moscow attraction.

Established with the efforts of one person, the dedicated collector Pavel Tretyakov, it evolved from the time of its opening in 1856 into a unique collection of Russian works of art. The "Multimedia Complex of Actual Arts" includes: Moscow House of Photography, Multimedia Art Museum Moscow and the School of Photography and Multimedia of Alexander Rodchenko.
Moscow House of Photography was founded in 1996 as Russia's first museum dedicated to the development of photography.

During its existence, the museum has presented more than 1,300 of exhibitions. For more than 15 years the Moscow House of Photography hosts international festivals: Moscow "Biennale" and "Fashion and Style in Photography", for more than a decade - the contest for the best photos from Moscow "Silver Camera". The museum is actively publishing - for the time of its existence it has released more than a hundred books and catalogs.

Winzavod art complex used to be the oldest Moscow wine making enterprise in the 19th century. Today it a 20 000 sq. meters contemporary art cluster consisting of seven industrial buildings,  housing numerous art galleries, such as Aidan, XL, Regina, Proun, FotoLoft, concept shops, design studios and cafes.

Winzavod hosts many festivals, concerts and other public events. For those, who are contemporary art lovers Winzavod would be among must see places to visit and even buy some pieces of art.

Moscow Museum of Modern art the only museum specializing in the 20th  and 21st centuries’ modern art. It was founded by a famous Russian artist and sculptor Zurab Tsereteli. The museum is centrally located in the four buildings in Petrovka, Gogolevsky boulevard, Ermolaevsky lane and Tverskoy boulevard.

The museum collection depicts the development of avant-garde  in art. The larger part of collection consists of masterpieces of Russian artists, but you can also find works of Anri Russo, Joan Miro, Pablo Picasso and many others.

 

 

Moscow Planetarium

The Planetarium in Moscow was opened on November 5, 1929. It has been reopened on 12 June, 2011 after a global reconstruction. Now it is a multifunctional complex that combines scientific and educational resources, family leisure center, focused on different age groups of visitors. It is one of the biggest planetariums in the world.

The Planetarium complex includes the interactive museum "Lunarium", the Museum of Urania, the Big Star Hall and Park of the Sky.

 

 

Garage Center for Contemporary Culture

Garage, founded in 2008, is a major non-profit arts project based in Moscow, dedicated to exploring and developing contemporary culture. At the beginning of this year, Garage moved from its original home in the Bakhmetevsky Bus Garage to Gorky Park in Moscow. Garage aims to bring important international modern and contemporary art to Moscow, to raise the profile of Russian contemporary culture internationally and encourage a new generation of Russian artists. It also organizes and supports a wide range of cultural projects internationally.

The most intriguing contemporary art exhibitions, lectures, workshops and filmshows are generally held at Garage.

 

 

Zoological Museum of Moscow University

The oldest and largest natural history museum in Moscow. Zoological Museum of Moscow University is one of two largest zoological museums in Russia, and huge amount of its research collections makes it belonging to the first dozen of largest gatherings of such type in the world. The Museum's history is full of zoological discoveries, acquisitions of very important collections, activities of outstanding Russian zoologists and many hundreds of scientific publications.

Visitors can learn here about diversity of animal kinds on our planet, while professional zoologists can find rich research collections: there are about 10 thousand of exhibits displayed in the Museum exposition, which cover all animal beings, from unicellulates shown by artificial models to crocodiles, tigers, and bisons. The main exhibition introduces to diversity of the world wide fauna and it is arranged systematically, with an exception of a small new display of a unique deep-water ecosystem of so called "black smokers". One exhibition hall is specially devoted to principal trends of morphological evolution.

 

 

The Vodka Museum

In the Vodka Museum you have a unique opportunity to get acquainted with centuries-long history of Russian vodka, from its invention to the present day. In the museum's exposition you can see the first distillation unit, by means of which burning wine was produced in the XVth century. You will learn the secrets of vodka production process as well as the main ingredients of the Russian national drink. The museum can justly be proud of its collection of over 600 exhibits: various brands of vodka, XVIIIth century vodka recipes, vodka posters, vodka labels and vodka bottles of different sizes, from shkalik (or kosushka) to shtof and quarter.
