«Jesus Christ Superstar» at Mossovet theatre - 1 and 4 August

Musical play in 2 parts based on the same-name rock opera. Translation from English and adaption by Ya. Kessler. The staging of this work, that has already become a classic of world music, on the stage of the Russian Drama Theater is interesting because of combination of original genre of rock opera and traditions of the Russian theatrical school. We are talking about a free creative translation of the libretto into Russian, about the development of its dramatic lines, about the play "inspired by". This required a new musical version, which, however, has carefully preserved the melodica and author's leit-motifs.
