Archstoyanie 2012
The festival of landscape objects 'Archstoyanie 2012' - 27-29 July, the Kaluga Region. Theme: Motion Code.
During 7 years of its history the festival Archstoyanie has been developing the Nikola-Lenivets countryside lands from season to season. The festival is developing the territory filling up the natural lacunas with the artistic objects. From the point of view of academic approach to park development Nikola-Lenivets’ identity is represented now by the collection of artistic artifacts created since the very beginning of the festival. Local in its nature the task has gained a greater scale due to the park’s openness to experiment in art, architecture and socio-cultural practices. On the one hand the development of the park is a local endeavor, on the other Nikola-Lenivets opens new cultural layers and broadens the involvement of creative people thus becoming a laboratory park aimed at working out new forms of art. It synthesizes the ideas of architecture, music, theater, environmental design and landscape architecture.
If the «laboratory» is an experiment to find new forms of existence of art in the context of the places distant from cities, the first «park» deals with space changing with time. The space of the park is perceived thanks to its inside motion. The motion is the key concept of the park.
The purport of creative inventions of the coming summer is to explore the motion.
In 2012 Archstoyanie turns to blurred typologies among architecture, performance, research, to the things without which no motion is possible – itineraries, stops (exchange junctions), objects developing with time (during the preparation for the festival and its duration, during the cyclic changes from birth to maturity and to ageing of natural subjects).
The park will appear before a visitor as a conglomerate of itineraries created by different participants, in different conditions and with different objectives.
Authors’ itineraries by Nikolay Polissky, Michail Skvortsov (MANIPULAZIONE INTERNAZIONALE), Boris Bernaskoni, Salto Architects and bureau WAGON landscaping will show the special artistic vision of the park. Evening travel along curator’s itinerary will represent catalogue of spatial experiences which will reveal dialectical conditions of the park and existing artistic gestures.
